Phillip Knight was determined not to give up. He was determined to make his company work. His crazy idea evolved and he wasn’t going to let it fail. Knight was struggling as a young entrepreneur. There weren’t a lot of resources out there for him to use during this era. It was the 1960’s and majority of people weren’t becoming entrepreneurs because it was a very risky business. It wasn’t stable and it wasn’t a set income for sure. Yet here was Phillip Knight in the thick of it all, his young company growing steadily. Phillip Knight had a way with people. He was able to make people trust him and it helped him in his entrepreneurial endeavors. He was able to convince people to help him fund his small business and they trusted what he was doing.

Something I noticed was the relationships that Phillip Knight had with people was very interesting but also benefited his company more than anything else could. His relationships with people were friendly and he was confident in his abilities which made others trust him. Phillip Knight was extremely confident in what he did and made it seem like he knew exactly what he was doing even when he didn’t. Knight’s resilience is what shocks me the most. Knight was on a downhill slope. His business was progressing beautifully but his financial state wasn’t anywhere near perfect. He was determined to do what he loved and what he was passionate about even if it killed him financially. Something that I want to emanate in my business and in my life in general is how passionate he was. He was passionate about what he was doing all the time and made his dreams a reality through his passion and determination. I am determined to become passionate about everything I do and I hope that when I start a business, everyone else will be just as passionate as I am.
